Cannabis delivery FAQs

What do I need to know before placing my first order?

You must be at least 21 years old with a valid, government-issued I.D. to order cannabis delivery on Lantern. Per state and city regulations, only home deliveries are allowed; deliveries to dorms, hotels, and/or subsidized housing is not permitted.

Are there any delivery fees?

Both order minimums and delivery fees are determined by our dispensary partners and delivery couriers. Why? This helps offset the costs associated with delivery. These can vary by city and consumer location. Currently, delivery fees in Massachusetts range from $0–$10 per order based on distance from the dispensary.

Are prices and taxes the same as retail?

Products sold through Lantern are never marked up – you get to shop the same prices as in-store. Whether you're purchasing in-store or ordering delivery, cannabis products are taxed at 20% in the state of Massachusetts.

Where do you deliver?

We offer home delivery to residents 21+ across Greater Boston, from Allston to West Roxbury (and we're growing). Scroll up to see if we currently deliver to your neighborhood.

What are your delivery hours?

You can schedule a delivery up to 24 hours in advance. Hours of operation may vary by dispensary but typically range from 11 am–9 pm daily, with the option to schedule same-day and next-day delivery if you're ordering outside of live delivery hours.

How do I pay for cannabis delivery?

Lantern does not process or collect payment directly and credit card payments are prohibited due to the federal status of cannabis. Our dispensary partners offer payment options from debit cards and cash, to alternative payment solutions such as Aeropay or Hypur. Payments are typically processed at the time of delivery by your delivery driver and a small fee may be applied for non-cash transactions.

Do you have an app?

Not yet but stay tuned. Tip: you can make mobile ordering easier. If you have an iPhone, go to in Safari, tap the “Share" button, and select "Add to Home Screen."

Is recreational cannabis delivery legal?

Yup, recreational cannabis delivery is 100% legal for Massachusetts residents 21 years of age and older. A valid, government-issued I.D. (license, passport, etc.) is required to purchase.
